Hi,
this is might be a question for any moderator on line:
After joining in April this year and having analysed a couple of hundreds of "spots", "what's that" and "incomings", with a quite a bunch of solar storm identifications and event flags, I am surprised to not see any evolution in "My Solar Stormwatch", still reflecting me as "new recruit" being in "no detection group" with " no collaborator" and "no solar storm spotted". I could not find in our Solar Stormwatch forum any information about the criteria, that drive the evolution of achievements and groups reflected in "My Solar Stormwatch". Any clue from anyone ?
Regards,

Hi Herve,

although my number of classifications is not even remotely comparable to your's I think it's the same for me. It's hard to believe that of all the storm classifications I carried out only one turned out to be classified as a storm by the majority of the bunch who saw it.

But there is an obvious reason as to why this is happening: Our results need to be aggregated by hand by the zookeepers: Some people might see different numbers of CMEs in the same spot movie and then again even if two people saw the same number of events in one video it's not so obvious that they were seeing the same events.

Of course the recorded time indices will help in the decision process. But they might also be treacherous. So I think that's the main reason for the somewhat slow process in the update of the status and detection group features.

Anyone who knows more?

cheers

Hi guys,
this is very strange. I think I have done approximately the same number of classifications  as HervĂ© and I have 10+ storms under my belt. I think this is something for the team to look at.
btw : I'm still a 'new recruit', so don't worry about that  ;)

The stats for My Solar Stormwatch have not been updated since March 17th(blog entry), so if you started classifying after that date, you won't have anything listed.  The team is working on automating the process so it gets updates a bit more regularly, but it might take a while. :)

Hello all, and thanks to our lovely moderators for pretty much answering this question... as they all say, Arfon's working hard on automating the allocation of your badges - in fact I think it's on his to do list for the next couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience.

Of course you wouldn't, but you can answer by gratuitous, non-meaningful question.  Can you come to Michigan next week and speak to the kick-off gathering of the Center for Inquiry-Skeptics in the Pub-Flint? That's Michigan. Drinks are on me.   :D ::) 8)
