You're right, it is truly amazing.  The caption stated that we're entering an active cycle.  I, however, have not noticed a lot of CMEs on 'Incomings' and have been thinking that things were slowing down. 

Is there any way to tell what one of these flares might sound like?

This is probably one of the best sunsets i have ever seen!!!!

also the recently launched SDO (solar dynamics observatory) is providing great images; with incredible resolution.
