  • I work at the Royal Observatory, Greenwich. I'm a web geek rather than an astronomer, though.

There's also a feature on the Zoos in this month's (June) Sky at Night magazine where I am billed as 'The Expert'. Not just 'An Expert' mark you, 'The Expert'. It sounds like the geekiest of super heroes. I wonder what my super-powers would be? The ability to read technical manuals? Thoughtful beard stroking? The ability to find a Douglas Adams quote to fit any occasion?

The CD of the same edition should contain the episode of S@N about the Sun where you can witness that my weakness as a superhero is differentiating between 'Geosynchronus' and 'Geostationary' orbits. Oh the shame .....

Chris.

Astronomy Now are in the process of doing a long piece on UK solar science which includes a mention of Stormwatch. I suspect it's going to be in the next (July?) edition. Keeps you eyes out for it anyway.

I've just been interviewed by Spark FM in Sunderland who were responding to a story in the London Metro who were reporting a story in the Daily Telegraph who were quoting a NASA press release. It was all about the Sun reaching a peak of activity in 2013 and how this would impact our technology. I gave solar stormwatch a good plug!

Let me know if you found your way to this site from that interview!

I wrote an article which was published in today's online Daily Telegraph. I gave stormwatch a plug as usual!

Great article. If you look at the sidebar there's numerous links to 'sun sounds'.

We're on the cover of July's Astronomy Now magazine with a 12 page spread of solar science inside with, of course, the obligatory mention of Stormwatch.

Thanks everyone!

Off the back of the Telegraph article, I'm about to do an interview on FMR101.3fm radio in Cape Town. They want to broadcast it tomorrow during the England match. I'll try to plug SSW as usual!
