*Schedule of speakers to follow soon

And here's the link to last year's ZooCon talk thread :

I can highly recommend ZooCon. It is really interesting to hear about a lot of Zooniverse projects and get a glimpse of what the future holds and ofcourse it is good fun to meet other zooites in person.

Hope to see lots of you there ! :)

At the Daily Zooniverse you can find something awesome from the Zooniverse every day ! ;D

We thought it would be fantastic if we could get you to nominate your favourite images to feature on the Daily Zooniverse!

All you need to do is hashtag your image with #dailyzoo .

We really look forward to seeing all your submissions!

Technical Questions and Support / Problems with Incoming - Trace
« on: November 07, 2013, 08:43:58 pm »
Ever since this morning when I want to do an 'Icoming - Trace it' I get a blank grey image
Incoming works just fine.
I'm using Chrome and haven't had a problem with it before.
Is it just me ?

Technical Questions and Support / Solar Stormwatch down ?
« on: October 02, 2013, 07:40:29 pm »
I cannot access the site of Solar Stormwatch. Anyone else has this problem or know what is going on ?

Help !
I can't get on Solar Stormwatch. I get this very weird message (Ruby on Rails etc...)
I have the same thing with Chrome and Firefox and on different computers.
I have cleared the cache and deleted cookies.
And apparently it is only SSW that is affected. The other zooniverse projects work just fine.
 ??? ??? ???

Technical Questions and Support / Error 500
« on: February 26, 2013, 06:46:44 pm »
I've been having problems with Incoming and Incoming Trace for ever now.
I ALWAYS get the 'there was an error downloading the video' message (both in Chrome and Firefox)
And since a couple of days I get an 'error : 500' message if I try to complete a What's that video.
I do know this is just a plot to steer me to the Trace-it's  ;) ;D, but every once in a while I like to do something else !
Any ideas ?

The Sun Lounge / RAS picnic Greenwich - Sunday 31st July 2011
« on: July 13, 2011, 10:14:57 pm »
Every year the RAS (Royal Astronomy Society) has a picnic in Greenwich park. And a couple of years ago some people from Galaxyzoo decided that this was the perfect opportunity to meet and so a tradition was born.

It's a very informal affair and we (Zooites) are allowed to gatecrash as long as we bring food and refreshments.   ;D
It's great fun and this year there will be a fairly substantial zooniverse crowd (Here's the link to the thread over on Galaxy Zoo:

We will be meeting at noon at the Wolfe statue at the top of the hill in Greenwich Park. The picnic spot is east of there (to your right if you're looking towards Canary Wharf).
If you need to buy stuff there is a Marks & Spencer shop near the exit from the DLR (turn left towards the river when you exit onto the road from the DLR).

So , everyone is invited to this fun and relaxed afternoon.
And it would be great to meet some SSW-ers
Hope to see lots of you there.
(please pm me for any additional info)

Solar Stormwatch / Optical effect
« on: May 27, 2011, 10:41:24 pm »
I'm assuming this is an optical effect, but I haven't seen this one before.
Any explanations ?

Solar Stormwatch / Weird 'cloud'
« on: March 30, 2011, 09:06:36 pm »
Any ideas about the strange cloud like feature bottom left ?
It starts at the beginning and ends at approx. 6.50.
My guess is an optical effect, but what are the more scientific explanations ?  :D

Solar Stormwatch / double whammy ?
« on: February 22, 2011, 10:20:54 pm »
Okay, I admit, the caption is a bit over the top.  ;) ;D
But what do you call this one : I see two storms simultaneously. Anyone else ?
It starts at 4:70 and the snapshot is at 9:60

Solar Stormwatch / problems with Incoming - Trace it ?
« on: January 18, 2011, 11:34:11 am »
I've been getting these in Incoming Trace it for the last couple of days.
Which is weird because Incoming is working perfectly fine.
Something going wrong in the preparation of the j-maps ?
